Seaton Tramway Welcomes Gilbert their NEW Mascot!

Seaton Tramway is inviting everyone to join them this year to meet their NEW mascot, Gilbert, the sprightly station master.

Gilbert was the name of the Station Master who lived at Colyton Station from 1892 to 1908. Born in Exeter on 2nd November 1851, Gilbert Morris Cowd moved to Farnborough to begin working as a junior railway clerk for the London & South Western Railway in 1869, aged 18. He later worked in Wandsworth, Richmond and Waterloo before returning to Exmouth in Devon and eventually became the station master at Colyton Station.

Now open daily, visitors will get a chance to meet our own Gilbert on selected days, and hop aboard a tram any day of the week until the end of October.

Gilbert is a little forgetful though and is always losing things but you can help track them down for him. Seaton Tramway is running a Gilbert’s Trail throughout 2016 and any young explorers will receive a special certificate for all of their hard work!

All tickets and Loyalty Cards can be purchased at the Seaton Terminus and Colyton Station ticket offices or online at:
