Mascot from Devon’s Top Attractions Wins Bake Off!

In celebration of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Beverley Holidays hosted a 'Mad Mascot Tea Party and Bake Off'.  Mascots attended armed with their culinary cake creations ready for the judges to take a taste.

There was stiff competition from the mascots who had all been extremely innovative with their homemade choice of cake, theme and presentation.  After much tasting and deliberation and not a ‘soggy bottom’ in sight the ‘star baker’ was announced as Mr & Mrs Livingstone from Exmoor Zoo who had brought along a delightful and well themed chocolate bear cake.

The winner was followed closely by Cavog, Kents Cavern’s mascot in second place with a scrumptious and clever idea of ‘Rock Cakes’.  Third prize went to Beverley Holiday’s own Beverley Bear for her beautifully presented pink and tasty creation. Other delightful treats were entered by Woodland Park’s Hero, Beverley Holiday’s other mascot Sandy Starfish, Torquay United’s Gilbert the Gull and making her first every guest appearance with her home baked indulgence was Pennywell Farm’s new mascot Pippa Pig.

The event raised over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support and had an excellent turn-out from guests, local residents and students from White Rock Primary School. Anne Blackham from Devon's Top Attractions who was one of the judges commented “What a wonderful fun event and for such a worthy cause.  The students from the local Primary School certainly enjoyed meeting all of the mascots, well done to Beverley Holidays for organising the event.”

If you would like to see any of the mascots at their own attractions, see the website for more details.
