Summer Holiday Activities at The Donkey Sanctuary

Saturday 23rd July 2016 - Wednesday 31st August 2016

Come rain or shine, The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth has plenty of fun-filled events for all the family.

With free admission, free parking, daily activities throughout the holidays and a free Hopper Bus from Sidmouth, The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is a great value option this summer. Open from 9am every day, enjoy face painting and animal-themed crafts, such as making a donkey out of modelling clay, and take the whole family on a holiday hunt around the farm.

Get outdoors and meet some of the 500 donkeys who are cared for at the Sidmouth site, including giant Poitou donkeys, gorgeous adoption donkeys and marvellous miniature donkeys; you can even cuddle a donkey or two in the main yard! Explore the maze, let off some steam in the farm-themed outdoor play area and bring the dog along for a scenic coast and country walk around the heart of the Sanctuary.

Chris Phillips of The Donkey Sanctuary says: “During the summer holidays there will be a range of activities every day for all family members to join in with! Craft activities and face painting will be taking place each day in the Events Barn between 11am and 3pm.The holiday hunt will begin in the Gift Shop and will run all day, every day.”

Make a day of it and enjoy freshly-prepared, locally-sourced meals in the Hayloft restaurant, including hearty breakfasts and delicious lunches. Devonshire cream teas, cakes, specials, kid’s portions, vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available.

The free Hopper Bus from Sidmouth to The Donkey Sanctuary runs from 26 May to 30 September, excluding Folk Week (29 July – 5 August). A timetable can be found on The Donkey Sanctuary’s website.

Activities are priced individually and all proceeds go towards the charity's work in the community and worldwide.
