Bracelet Salad Plate Syracuse china is still producing china today, and has been since 1883! This makes it one of the oldest surviving china companies in America. A high quality product offered at a reasonable price is most likely the reason that the factory has been able to stay in business for such a long time.

Today, most of the Syracuse product line is commercial china for the food service industry, but many old fine china patterns exist and are sought after by collectors. Beautiful Syracuse china patterns from the 1930's through the 1960's represent a great value in the second hand china market. These wonderful, old patterns represent the efforts of the company during its peak period of popularity and production.

Suzanne Dinner Plate Syracuse, like Castleton was a significant competitor of Lenox during the middle part of this century. The ceramic bodies of most U.S. brands of china are similar in composition. They are durable high temperature fired wares that are usually an off white or creamy color.

Syracuse marked most of their fine china with a backstamp that reads "Old Ivory", which simply indicates the color of the ceramic body. This is confusing to many collectors who read the mark and think that Old Ivory is the pattern name. Most, but not all, Syracuse is marked on the back of the dinner plates with the pattern name.
