Waterfalls

Escape the crowds and experience the highest waterfall in Dartmoor National Park. The climb to Lady Exmouth’s falls takes you on a journey through Canonteign’s past where natural waterfalls have existed for generations.

Fern Garden

The Victorian Fern Garden,  awarded Plant Heritage National Collection status in 2022,  is a magical fern-lined hanging valley with twisting paths, babbling stream and prehistoric-looking ferns.  Carry on through the garden to view the Falls themselves and see the panorama of the Devon countryside at your feet.

Lower Lakes

To explore further afield, head down to the Lower Lakes for a complete contrast.  These sheltered, sunny meadows are home to a series of interlocking lakes, where you can wander beside the water, over bridges and among the wildlife.

New Labyrinth at Canonteign falls

The Labyrinth

World-famous maze maker Adrian Fisher designed Canonteign’s Labyrinth.  Seven paved rings have been set into the grass overlooking the Devon countryside.

Playgrounds and family fun

Explore the adventure playgrounds with trampolines, wooden galleon, zip wire and mini assault course. Children adore the challenge of the steps up to the Falls, spotting our resident fairies and willow animals along the way.

Myself, my husband, 2 kids and grandparents visited here whilst on holiday in the area.

We all absolutely loved it, was great value for money and the kids loved the fairy walk and the addition of the T Rex dinosaur was a hit with my son.

We went at lunchtime and stayed for about 3.5 hours. Beautiful walks, views from the top are gorgeous – lovely cafe on site and local ice cream. Playground also for the kids at the end. Great way to spend an afternoon and a must see attraction if you’re visiting the area.

What a stunning place! The walk through the woods to the waterfall is magical and the view from the top is spectacular.

Ruby’s coffee in the cafe is excellent – and a great accompaniment to the home-baked cakes.

We will be going again!
