Tuckers Maltings
Tuckers Maltings is one of only a handful of Malthouses still producing malt in the traditional way. Take a guided tour around this 1900 building and see the barley being turned into malt for local breweries using the original Victorian machinery. Finish with a taste of real ale made with Tucker's malt (over 18s only).
See the 12 stages in the ancient process of malting.
Touch the grain and notice the difference as it goes through the process.
Smell the sweet aromas from the working kilns.
Taste the crisp, crunchy grains of the finest natural malt.
Shop in our speciality beer shop which stocks over 200 bottled beers, many of them from West Country microbreweries.
Opening times
Tuckers Maltings is open for guided tours every day from Good Friday until 31st October (including Bank Holidays) but excluding Sundays.
Tours run at 10.45am, 12 noon, 2.00pm and at 3.15pm and last about one hour.
The speciality beer shop is open from 10.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Saturday inclusive. During the winter the shop closes at 1.00pm on Saturday.
