Coldharbour Mill

Coldharbour Mill quality assured

Step back in time and take a journey through the Industrial Revolution and experience a Victorian woollen Mill in daily production.

One of the oldest working woollen mills in the UK Coldharbour Mil has been in continuous production since 1797 and largely untouched since the industrial revolution. It is a unique chance to bring to life and experience how life and manufacturing was like in the 19th Century.

Originally owned by world-renowned textile producers Fox Brothers, the Mill took fleece from all over the world and transformed it into yarn, cloth and textiles. Today the rich heritage lives on as one of the finest working wool museums where visitors are not just able to relive the sights and sounds of the industrial revolution but also see crafts men and women making traditional textiles, beautiful knitting yarn and hand woven rugs using heritage machinery, steam and water power just like in the Industrial revolution.

Join us for one of our steam days where you can experience our Boilers and Steam Engines at work.

We are open 6 days a week from April - the end of October and every Bank Holiday Monday. Watch the website for details of our steam days.
